So Eligia Lauducci, a merchant and resident in the city center, denounces the conditions in which Via Regina Elena finds itself at the corner with Via Mazzini, among food scraps, boxes, packages, bags and abandoned materials of all kinds.
«In the street almost all the bins have been removed», he points out «and the bins have been left only at the corner of via Regina Elena and via Mazzini. The result is an unseemly situation that I have been denouncing for years. The restaurant businesses in the area, instead of leaving the waste in front of their premises, come to unload all the rubbish at that point, at any time of the day. It is a filthy situation with unbearable nauseating smells. The administration speaks of decorum, waving the recognition of the Blue Flag, but the daily images that we face speak for themselves. I am clamoring for the bins to be placed in front of the restaurant business. Only in this way will the decor that a central area and a stone’s throw from the sea deserve be restored ». In recent days, the administration has announced a regulation for cleaning and decorating inside and outside public establishments, for the managers of restaurants, bars and pubs, which will also contain the rules relating to the elimination of waste.
