Psaki reveals details of upcoming US-Russian security talks

by time news

Washington does not plan to consistently respond to Moscow on each item on the proposals for security guarantees, since some of them do not deserve such separate attention at all. This was stated at a briefing by the press secretary of the White House Jen Psaki.

Meanwhile, she said, the United States believes that progress will be made during the discussion.

“We do not know what the talks scheduled for next week will bring, but our approach to discussions will be pragmatic, result-oriented. We believe there are areas where we can make progress <...>, if they [власти РФ] sit at the negotiating table ready for this [прогрессу]”, – quotes the words of Psaki TASS.

As a reminder, it is already known that Russian-American talks on security guarantees will begin in Geneva on January 10. Two days later, the Russia-NATO Council will be held in Brussels. And on January 13, the OSCE Permanent Council will be held in Vienna.
