Disillusionment for the men of PSG judo. Coming to Belgrade to win the club’s first European Cup since 1995, they were eliminated in the semi-finals this Saturday against OJK, a local club supported by a good part of the Stark Arena. In this team competition, the Parisians won their quarter-final quietly (3 victories to 1). Back on the tatami at 1 p.m., they lost by the same score.

Only Teddy Riner (+90kg) won his fight in the semi-final. Alexis Mathieu (-90 kg) lost the first round due to disqualification. Walide Khyar (-66kg) lost in the golden score. Finally, the Georgian Lasha Shavdatuashivili, who represents PSG, lost the 4th decisive fight in favor of OJK Belgrade. The men will compete in the bronze medal final at 4 p.m.

In the feminine picture, the smile is there. In a very tough semi-final against the Turks of Galatasaray, the Parisian athletes won three sets to one. Fights won by Amandine Buchard (-52 kg), the British Lucy Renshall (-63kg) and Marie-Eve Gahié (-70kg). Faïza Mokdar (-57 kg) conceded the only point in this semi-final. PSG women’s judo will meet from 4:30 p.m. to compete in a 100% French final against Pontault-Combault. Paris is therefore still aiming for a victory in the Champions League. Among women, it would be the first victory in its history.
