“After very constructive and positive discussions between Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappé before the PSG-Lorient match, the player was reinstated for first-team training this morning,” the club said in a statement. The Frenchman had notably been seen in the stands of the Park during the meeting, alongside new recruit Ousmane Dembélé.
An encouraging sign as the striker has stuck to his guns since being ousted from the Parisian tour of Japan and South Korea. Staying in Poissy, at the club’s new training center alongside other undesirables (Draxler, Paredes, Dagba …), he had shown himself to be disciplined, studious, but above all smiling with the supporters. This week, Mbappé reiterated to President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi during an interview at the PSG Campus that he wanted to stay at Paris Saint-Germain to honor his last year of contract.
Because according to him, he only has one year left with the club, despite the choice of PSG to announce his extension, in May 2022, with a “2025” flocked jersey, while his contract runs until 2024 and that he only can activate the last year.
