“The government has already started 2021. development and discussions of the draft state budget, but there are already problems related to some sectors, particularly agriculture. We were told that a few days ago, a discussion was held in the National Assembly Committee on Territorial Administration and Agriculture, regarding agriculture in the budget, which was heated.
At first, Economy Minister Tigran Khachatryan, who considers himself far from agriculture, was present, so he put the file under his arm and left, leaving the burden on Deputy Minister Arman Khojoyan. The deputies also directed their criticisms to him. In addition to the MPs of the BH and LH factions, the project was thoroughly criticized by the chairman of the committee, Varazdat Karapetyan from Imkayl.
The main problem is that there is no clear plan for the development of the rural sector, the main plans are for lowland agriculture, there is nothing aimed at mountain settlements, in addition, the MPs also reminded the Ministry of Economy about the unimplemented plans for agriculture this year.”
