The Kremlin published Putin’s instructions on its website today, Wednesday, three weeks after he announced that Russia would cooperate with partners in the BRICS group and other countries to develop artificial intelligence.
Putin asked the government and Sberbank, which is leading the country’s efforts in the field of artificial intelligence, “to ensure increased cooperation with the People’s Republic of China in research and technological development in the field of artificial intelligence.”
Sanctions imposed by Western countries aimed at Russia’s ability to access the technologies it needs to wage its war against Ukraine have led the world’s largest microchip production companies to halt exports to the Russia, which severely limited Moscow’s ambitions in the field of artificial intelligence.
