Cairo authorities have cracked down on a controversial party advertisement that sparked public outrage due to its unsettling name and questionable promotional tactics. The Ministry of Interior investigated after a video circulated on social media showing a woman reacting to the advertisement for an event dubbed “A Day in… Epstein Island,” scheduled for February 10 at the Nile Palace nightclub.
Party Promotion Raises Concerns
The event’s advertisement, offering free entry to women, drew criticism for its inappropriate title and ambiguous messaging.
Security forces quickly identified the advertisement as raising concerns, particularly due to the stipulation of free entry for women. This, combined with the provocative title referencing “Epstein Island,” fueled public disapproval and prompted an investigation into the event’s organizers and legitimacy.
Investigations revealed the party was being organized without the necessary permits or legal licenses from relevant authorities. Authorities swiftly moved to identify and apprehend the individual responsible, described as a “party organizer” residing in Cairo Governorate.
A decision was made, in coordination with competent authorities, to prevent the event from taking place, and appropriate penalties will be imposed. Legal measures have been initiated against the organizer, reflecting a commitment to upholding societal values and enforcing the law.
