Argentina and Australia have qualified for the pre-quarterfinals after winning matches at the Qatar Football Festival yesterday.
In the matches held at 8.30 pm last night, Tunisia, which is in Group D, played against France and Australia against Denmark.
In this, the France-Tunisia teams clashed in the match held in Qatar. In the 58th minute of the game, Tunisian player Wakabi Khasri scored a goal to give his team the lead. After this both the teams tried hard but did not score any goal. So Tunisia shocked defending champions France by 1-0.
Notably, France has only lost a World Cup series since the quarter-finals in 2014. However, France qualified for the next round having already won 2 matches. In another match, Australia beat Denmark 0-1. With this, Australia qualified for the next round.
At 12.30 midnight, the Polish team, which is in the C category, met Argentina in the walking match. With both teams scoreless in the first half, star player Messi failed to convert his penalty chance. In the 46th minute of the 2nd half of the game, Argentine player Alexis McAllister scored a goal. Julian Alvarez scored a goal in the 67th minute of the game to give his team the victory. Argentina won 2-0 and qualified for the next round. Although the Polish team lost in this match, they progressed to the next round on the basis of goal difference.
Another Group C match in Lusail pitted Saudi Arabia against Mexico. While the first half ended in a goalless draw, Mexican player Martin scored a goal in the 47th minute of the second half and Savage scored a goal in the 52nd minute. Subsequently, in the 90th + 5th minute of the game, Saudi Arabian player Al-Tawsari scored a goal and provided consolation. With this, the Mexican team won with a score of 2:1. However, both teams missed out on qualifying for the next round.
