Qatar plans a bombing for Manchester United

by time news

Qatari investors plan to make a huge offer to buy the Manchester United, as reported hours ago by the newspaper ‘Daily Mail’ citing unidentified sources. The report describes the investors as “a group of private individuals of great wealth” from Qatar and that it is “confident that the offer will leave their rivals speechless.” It must be remembered that the Glazers, current owners, are asking for 6,000 million pounds.

Jim Ratcliffe’s company, INEOS, formally entered the bidding process to buy United last month after the club’s American owners, the Glazer family, said in November they had begun looking at options that included a new investment or a possible sale.

Bloomberg News reported last month that Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), which owns Paris St Germain, was considering a full takeover or stake in Manchester United or rivals Liverpool.

United fans have been clamoring for a change of ownership and the Glazers have come under intense criticism as the team has won nothing since 2017, when it lifted the Europa League and League Cup trophies. In April, thousands protested outside Old Trafford, lighting flares and singing songs demanding that the Glazers “get out of the club”.

United’s net debt, another bone of contention among fans, had risen to 515 million pounds (620.42 million euros) in September.
