Journalist Alleges Financial Exploitation by Ex-Partner in Custody Battle
Through social media, journalist Rafael Cavada reported on the difficulties he has faced in achieving shared custody of his children and accused his ex-partner, Fiorella Choca, of attempting to take ”financial advantage.”
In a recent post on his Instagram account, Rafael Cavada revealed the legal battle he is fighting with his ex-partner, Fiorella Choca, for the care of their children. In the post, he stated that since their separation in January, he has only been able to spend a few hours with his children a couple of days a week, significantly restricting their relationship.
Cavada expressed his frustration, claiming that Choca has reported him for physical and psychological violence throughout their relationship, leading to a lawsuit for shared custody. He suspects this is an attempt to obstruct the new Comprehensive Law against Violence against Women, which coincides with their ongoing disagreement about alimony payments, which amount to almost 90% of his salary.
The journalist also alleged that Choca’s complaint is hindering his ability to achieve shared custody of their three children. He acknowledged the damage to his image but believes the truth will eventually prevail.
Cavada concluded by criticizing the misuse of legal protections and rights intended for women and mothers, alleging that Choca is using them for personal gain rather than for the well-being of their children.
