Nagercoil: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi will start a solidarity walk from Kumari to Kashmir today. Chief Minister M. K. Stalin will inaugurate this journey in Kanyakumari. 3,500 km across 12 states in a total of 150 days. This trek is done for distance.

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi is undertaking an all-India unity walk called ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ to strengthen the party and galvanize its activists across India. Starting from Kanyakumari, this trek reaches Kashmir via Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab.

Rahul Gandhi arrived in Chennai last night by flight from Delhi to participate in it. Congressmen gave him a warm welcome at the airport. He stayed overnight at a private hotel in Chennai and left Chennai at 6:45 this morning to reach the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial at Perumbudur. There, Rajiv Gandhi pays respects to the portrait by sprinkling flowers.

Following this at 7 am, Rajiv pays tribute by sprinkling flowers at the sacrificial ground. He also participates in Veena Gayatri’s music tribute program there. He then meets and interacts with the staff of Rajiv Gandhi Memorial and the families of those who sacrificed their lives with Rajiv Gandhi. Then fly from Chennai to Thiruvananthapuram and from there take a helicopter to Kanyakumari. Visits Vivekananda Mandapam and Thiruvalluvar statue at 4 pm. Paying respects at Kamaraj Memorial House and Gandhi Mandapam.

Rahul starts his walk from the entrance gate of Gandhi Mandapam. Chief Minister M. K. Stalin presents the national flag to Rahul and inaugurate the walk. From there, Rahul Gandhi goes to the platform set up at a distance of 600 meters and speaks to the volunteers gathered there.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Khelat, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Bagal, Congress MPs, MLAs and leaders of allied parties will participate in the public meeting. Chief Minister Stalin did not participate in the meeting.

After the meeting, Rahul will walk to Agastheeswaram Vivekananda College and stay there tonight. Tomorrow (8th) to 10th 4 days in Kumari district covering 56 km. He walks long distances and meets a hundred thousand people. Rahul is going to meet one crore people during this walk to Kashmir.

118 youth exam

118 youths travel with Rahul Gandhi from start to finish. Vijendra Singh (58) from Rajasthan is the oldest among them who have been selected on the basis of physical ability. Others are under 38 years of age. The 25-year-old twins Ajam Jamla and Beimboy from Arunachal Pradesh and 28 women volunteers from the Women’s Congress are participating in the walk. Apart from this, 100 people from the locality will accompany Rahul till the border of the state in which the trek is going.

50 caravan vans

Separate teams also go to provide food and medical aid to the trekkers. Arrangements are made to provide food and refreshments as per their preference. 50 fully equipped caravan vans are available for trekking groups to relax. Arrangements have been made for the party’s IT team to accompany them and record the important events of the walk and post them on social media.

Trekking groups cover 20 to 25 km daily. are going to happen. They are going to walk from 6 to 10 in the morning and from 4 to 7 in the evening. Rahul is also scheduled to interact with the public during the walk.

In view of Rahul’s walk, traffic has been changed from Kanyakumari to Nagercoil to Tirunelveli route today and tomorrow. On the occasion of the visit of Chief Minister Stalin and Rahul Gandhi, heavy police security has been put in place under the supervision of ADGP Thamaraikannan. Tamil Nadu Congress president KS Azlagiri and many national leaders of the party, state and district administrators are camping in Kanyakumari.
