Locomotive Engine Operators Union (LEOU) Secretary Indika Sansoda said that the railway strike that was to be called for tonight by several railway unions has been called off following a positive response from the Transport Ministry.

There is no need to advance the strike
Although the union had called for a boycott, the Cabinet Office has informed that the decision will be sent to the Ministry of Transport today, so there is no need to go ahead with the planned strike, the coordinator said.
