Portugal’s Civil Protection agency has issued a weather warning for the North and Central coast, anticipating periods of heavy rainfall and strong winds through the early afternoon. Residents are urged to remain vigilant as conditions remain unstable and could rapidly deteriorate.
The alert, delivered by a senior official during a press conference at the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) headquarters in Carnaxide, Oeiras, highlights the potential for significant disruption. “This meteorological situation announces rain, sometimes heavy on the North and Central coast, until early afternoon, moderate wind, stronger on the coast, near the coast and in the highlands, with gusts that could reach up to 75 km/h, and also with strong sea agitation,” the official stated.

The most severe impacts are expected along the coastal regions, where wind gusts could reach 75 kilometers per hour. These conditions pose a risk to infrastructure and maritime activities.
