Raisen: A truck overtaking from the wrong side collided with a wedding procession in Sultanpur of Raisen district of MP. Seven people lost their lives and 25 others were injured in this accident. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has expressed grief over the untimely demise of those killed in this road accident. Apart from this, the Chief Minister has announced to provide financial assistance of Rs 4-4 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50-50 thousand to the injured. Along with this, instructions have also been given for proper treatment of all.

The seriously injured people were shifted to nearby medical facilities for immediate treatment, while the bodies of the dead were sent for post-mortem. The sad thing is that seven of the injured have died so far. At present, the remaining 9 injured, including women and children, are undergoing treatment in the hospital and their condition is said to be critical.

A police officer said that the accident happened at Khamaria Ghat on the Bhopal-Jabalpur road on National Highway-45. The speeding truck driver lost control, due to which he collided with the wedding procession and many people, including women and children, were seriously injured. The injured victims were immediately taken to the district hospital for treatment. On receiving the information, the local police and the concerned district administration also immediately reached the spot and started the rescue operation.

Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang reached AIIMS to meet the injured. On the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Minister Sarang reached AIIMS to inquire about the condition of the injured and took stock of the arrangements. A team of specialist doctors has been deployed to monitor the injured. Out of the 5 injured referred to Bhopal AIIMS, 3 are currently out of danger, while 1 is on ventilator. Another person who was seriously injured in the accident has also died.
