Tanjore Peruvudayar Temple is full of festivities for the 1037th Sadaya Festival of Ponni’s father-in-law Selvar Rajaraja Chola. Every year in the month of November, the Sadaya festival of Rajaraja Chola takes place in Tanjore Periya Temple. This year, Rajaraja Chola’s festival was celebrated on the 25th of Bandhakal.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister M.K.Stalin announced yesterday that Rajaraja Cholan’s birthday will be celebrated as a state festival. He also said that his father-in-law Rajarajacholan Mani Mandapam in Thanjavur will be improved and beautified.
Meanwhile, Thanjavur District Collector Dinesh Ponraj Oliver paid respects to the statue of Rajaraja Cholan outside the temple today, the main day of the festival.
