In Afghanistan, students and teachers marched to condemn the reopening of high schools for girls just hours after they opened.
There, protests intensified around the world that only girls under the age of 12 were allowed to go to school. Following this, the Taliban announced that the girls could go to high school and ordered the closure within hours of the start of classes.
