Cherthala: Five accused in the murder of BJP OBC Morcha state secretary Ranjeet Srinivas in Alappuzha have been remanded for two weeks. SDPI activists Nishad, Asif, Arshad, Sudhir and Ali were remanded in custody. After a medical examination and a Kovid examination, the accused were produced before the magistrate through video conferencing. The police will file an application in court the next day to take the accused into custody.

They were arrested from Mannancherry last night and interrogated by IG Harshitha Attalloori of the southern region. The probe team also received information about other accused. The five arrested are those who provided necessary assistance to those who were directly involved in the murder.
