Health is the foundation of any society because it generates immediate benefits for millions of people. Therefore, it is necessary to invest permanently to achieve satisfactory results. Back to the central theme, each year Newsweek magazine and the global data firm Statista publish the results of the study with the best hospitals in the world. For the work of this 2023, more than 2,300 hospitals from 28 different countries were analyzed, including one that was taken into account for the first time: Taiwan.

This work began in 2019 and since then it has become one of the main references to identify the state of hospitals around the world. To reach the final results, three parameters were taken into account.
- Online survey with experts (doctors, hospital directors, health professionals). We asked participants to recommend hospitals. We limit the possibility of bias by excluding recommendations for employers/workplaces.
- Results of patient experience surveys. In order to determine the patient experience, we use data from existing public surveys. In general terms, insurers conduct these surveys at the end of the hospital stay. Among the topics analyzed are: satisfaction with the hospital, hospital recommendation and satisfaction with medical care.
- Key Medical Performance Indicators (KPIs) for hospitals (for example, data on quality of treatment and hygiene measures). We collect KPIs from various public sources. The information analyzed included data on the quality of care for specific treatments, patient hygiene and safety measures, as well as data on the number of patients per doctor and per nurse.
In the end it was concluded that the hospital Mayo Clinic of Rochester repeat in first position. Something that is striking is that five of the 10 best-rated hospitals in the world are in the United States.
