Are we on the verge of a groundbreaking collaboration like the one we have not seen in many years, at least in public? According to a report in Iran itself, it is certainly possible. According to the report, the Iranian Football Association is on its way to cooperation with an Israeli company, at the end of which blue-and-white sports equipment will arrive in Iran.
“Despite the well-known hostility between Tehran and Tel Aviv and the threats of an explosion between the two sides, sometimes the countries reach such agreements for their common interests,” read the French newspaper Les Rapports Quotidiens. The Iranian newspaper that revealed the deal is “Warsaw”, where the business between the two sides was reported, following information leaked to them about the reciprocal relationship. In Iran, they added that the Israeli company’s field of activity is technological means for using sports, and that the company’s location is generally in Hong Kong.
According to the report, the Israeli company sold its products that are currently used in the “Azadi” stadium – the largest stadium in the country, which contains no less than 120,000 spectators and where the national team games usually take place.
The sensational report aroused much interest in Iran, and following its exposure local journalists asked the Minister of Sports, Hamid Sajadi about the matter. The minister initially vehemently rejected the report, but in the end was convinced and said: “I have not yet received the document regarding this but it is true that we are waiting for it.”
