Ratzio, controlled by businessman Yigal Landau, winks at the field of clean and renewable energy. The partnership has announced that it will change its name from “Ratio Oil Exploration” to “Ratio Energy”. Although a change of name, but still one that marks the future of the partnership.

Marcio said that this change will better reflect its activities and initiatives in the field of natural gas production, clean and renewable energies as well as innovation in the fields of energy. As part of this move, ProSeed, the technology investment arm of the Ratio Group, is changing its name to Ratio Technologies. This change emphasizes the development of each of the companies and the existing synergy between the various areas of activity in the Ratio Group.

Yigal Landau, CEO of Ratio: “This year we mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Ratio. Over the years there have been quite a few challenges that paved the way, but finally we saw a vision that came true and became a reality for all of us with one huge natural gas discovery – “Whale” – that changed the Israeli energy economy and created a new Middle East.

“We are committed to continuing to advance this vision and are proud and confident that the Ratio Group will continue to evolve into new areas and develop new initiatives – both Ratio Energy and Technology Ratio – with a lot of good energy, innovation and creativity.”

Ratio Energies is an energy partnership established in 1992 with the aim of exploring, developing and producing natural gas and oil. The partnership was established by the Landau and Rotloi families together with Zvi Tzafriri and Eitan Eisenberg, the father of Taglit Levitan, who has served as senior vice president for the search and production of Ratio since its inception.

In 2010, Ratio and its partners discovered Whale, the largest natural gas field in the Mediterranean, with a total of 646 BCM and 41 million condensate barrels of contingent resources. Levitan began producing gas in December 2019 according to schedules and is currently selling natural gas to customers in Israel, Egypt and Jordan.
