Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul ruled out of 2nd Test match against England – Indian squad updates

Mumbai: Jadeja, KL Rahul have been ruled out of the second Test match against England.

England is leading 1-0 in this 5-match Test series. The 2nd Test match between these two teams will be held at the YS Rajasekara Reddy Cricket Ground in Visakhapatnam from 2nd to 6th February. India’s leading players Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul have withdrawn from this match due to injuries. Jadeja suffered a hamstring injury during Day 4 of the first Test in Hyderabad. Similarly, KL Rahul sustained an injury to his right leg.

The BCCI has confirmed the withdrawal of both and said that the medical team is actively monitoring the health of both. BCCI also announced that Sarbaraz Khan, Saurabh Kumar and Washington Sundar have been named in the Indian squad for the second Test instead of these two.

Sarfaraz and Washington Sundar were included in the India A squad for the three-match Test series against England Lions. In this, Sarfaraz scored 161 runs in the second Test in Ahmedabad and India A defeated England Lions by an innings and 16 runs. On the other hand, Washington Sundar had two wickets and a half-century in this match.
