One of Real Madrid’s prominent players suffered an injury hours before the Girona match today, Saturday, at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, in the 24th round of the Spanish League.
Real Madrid said in an official statement: “After the tests conducted today on our player Antonio Rudiger by the club’s medical services, it was found that he was suffering from a muscle injury in the vastus muscle of his left thigh.
He added, “The time for Rudiger’s return to matches depends on the pace of his recovery from the injury.”
According to the Spanish newspaper “AS”, Rudiger will miss the matches “for two weeks, and therefore he will also not join the match against Leipzig in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.”
Real Madrid is also missing the services of “Nacho Fernando, Eder Militao and David Alaba in the heart of defense due to injury.”
The Royal Club is at the top of the Spanish League with 58 points, ahead of Girona, which comes in second place with 56 points.
