The Petroleum Products Distribution Company in the Ministry of Oil confirmed today, Wednesday, that the Holy Karbala Refinery has stopped the import of white oil and kerosene and has worked to reduce the import of gasoline by about 50 percent.

The Director General of Petroleum Products, Hussein Talib, told the (INA): “The Holy Karbala Refinery is currently operating within its maximum capacity, which has led to stopping the import of white oil and kerosene, and has worked to reduce the import of gasoline to about 50 percent.”
He added, “The refinery produces various petroleum products, such as gasoline (super and improved), white oil, and gas oil (kerosene).”
On April 1 of last year, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani opened the Karbala oil refinery with a production capacity of 140,000 barrels per day.
Karbala Oil Refinery announced earlier that its production reached approximately 8 million liters of various types of white products.
