Record-breaking Remittances and Tourism Income Boost Foreign Exchange in Sri Lanka

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has announced that 487.6 million US dollars have been remitted to the country by foreign workers in January.

Accordingly, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka released a report and said that an increase of 11.4 percent has been recorded compared to last year.

In this situation, 437.5 million US dollars have been sent by foreign workers in January last year.

Meanwhile, in the last month of January, the income from tourism has increased to 122 percent.

Accordingly, USD 341.8 million has been received as foreign exchange.

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has announced that 153.5 million US dollars have been made available through the tourism sector last year.
