Terodde is currently the record goalscorer in second division history with 177 goals. In the 2021/2022 season he overtook Dieter Schatzschneider (153 goals). The value of this former Hanoverian had existed for more than 34 years.

The grand finale takes place in Fürth

The now 36-year-old was the top scorer in the German lower house four times. Most recently in the 2021/22 season, in which he helped Schalke 04 win promotion to the Bundesliga and became a club legend.

On Saturday, Schalke will face Hansa Rostock in the Veltins Arena (from 1 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online). It will be Terodde’s last home game in his career. The big final follows a week later with the game against SpVgg Greuther Fürth.

Last Tuesday, Terodde and Schalke celebrated secure relegation in the 2nd Bundesliga. The “Knappen” from Gelsenkirchen triumphed 4-0 against VfL Osnabrück and thus secured safe avoidance of relegation.
