Miami University RedHawks Announce Challenging 2026 Spring Tennis Schedule

A rigorous schedule of competition awaits the Miami University RedHawks women’s tennis team in the spring of 2026, featuring key matchups against programs in Illinois, Kentucky, and Colorado, as announced by head coach Ricardo Rosas. The schedule is designed to prepare the team for success in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and build upon the program’s commitment to developing “Graduating Champions.”

Building a Competitive Foundation

According to the head coach, the 2026 schedule prioritizes challenging the team early in the season against nationally respected programs. “We’ve built a very competitive non-conference schedule to challenge our team with a tough early stretch…to prepare us for MAC play, and continue on the journey of Graduating Champions,” Rosas stated. He emphasized the importance of resilience, focus, and growth throughout the season, embodying what he described as “the Miami way, with Love and Honor.”

Non-Conference Road Battles

The RedHawks will kick off their season in Florida, facing Florida Gulf Coast on January 17 and St. John’s on January 18 in Fort Myers. A demanding stretch of road contests follows, including matches against:

  • Illinois (January 24)
  • Kentucky (January 25)
  • Colorado (January 30)
  • Denver (January 31)
  • Cincinnati (February 14)
  • Xavier (March 6)
  • Marshall (April 17)

These contests will provide valuable experience against a diverse range of opponents.

Home Court Advantage

Miami University will also host several non-conference opponents at home, welcoming Cleveland State (February 7), Oakland (February 8), Butler (February 15), and Dayton (April 10) to the Miami Tennis Complex.

Conference Play and Championship Pursuit

The RedHawks will begin their MAC schedule on March 13 with a road match at Toledo. Additional conference road trips are scheduled against Western Michigan (March 15), Buffalo (March 29), and Ball State (April 19).

Miami will also host key conference matchups against UMass (March 20), Bowling Green (March 22), Northern Illinois (April 3), and Eastern Michigan (April 12). The season will culminate with the MAC Tournament, hosted by Miami University from April 24-26, offering the RedHawks a chance to compete for the conference championship on their home court.
