Domain name registrar Reg.ru intends to acquire a Russian hosting provider RUVDS. Founder and CEO of RUVDS Nikita Tsaplin told Vedomosti about this. He clarified that he received a letter from the director for partner development of the Reg.ru group of companies / Ru-Center (nic.ru) with an offer to sell the company. A representative of Reg.ru confirmed that the letter was sent.
From December 1, 2023, a register of hosting providers will be created, inclusion in which will become mandatory for further activities, Vedomosti reported in October. This is a requirement of amendments to the laws “On Information, Information Technologies and Information Protection” and “On Communications”, which Vedomosti wrote about at the end of July 2023.
