RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat warned on October 20, 2026, that regime change
movements driven by external forces fail to resolve societal problems. Speaking at the organization’s centenary Vijayadashami event in Nagpur, Bhagwat urged citizens to seek solutions within constitutional limits rather than pursuing agitations that risk creating anarchy and division.
Mohan Bhagwat Warns Against Foreign Regime Change Push
Addressing the annual Vijayadashami Utsav, which this year marked the centenary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Mohan Bhagwat cautioned that forces from the West are attempting to destabilize India.
He argued that these entities, which he described as demonic forces
seeking to dismantle cultural and human values, target India because of its recent progress and decisive policy-making.

Bhagwat specifically addressed the concept of regime change, citing recent political upheavals in France, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Albania.

He argued that political leaders with a thirst for power
often manipulate societal discontent, yet replacing a government rarely yields the intended results.
They claim that changing a regime will change the situation, but that has never really happened. It did not happen earlier, and it will not happen today either.

Bhagwat Urges Protesters to Follow the Constitution
While acknowledging that agitations are a natural part of a democracy, Bhagwat urged protesters to ensure their actions remain constructive.
Problems will remain, and protests are inevitable in a democracy. But what should the purpose of protests be? They should be aimed at finding solutions.

Pilot Smit Machchhar Praised for Hijacking Defense
During the event, Bhagwat highlighted the actions of Captain Smit Machchhar, a Mumbai-born pilot who recently thwarted a hijacking attempt on a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv.
We have to build a Bhārat that can provide a path of holistic development based on the wisdom of Dharma and offer the world a new path towards happiness and peace. Bhagwat pointed to Machchhar as an example of the values the RSS seeks to instill in society.
He noted that the pilot put his own life at risk to protect the 174 passengers and 27 children on board.
The pilot was also praised by the Consul General of Israel in Mumbai, Yaniv Revach, who attended the celebration.
Revach remarked that the pilot’s bravery reflected the morals and heritage he grew up with in India.
Revach noted that such values are essential for resisting extreme forces that seek to destabilize national identity.
Centenary Outreach and Future Policy Goals
As the RSS concludes its centenary year, the organization highlighted the scale of its national outreach.

Records indicate that Sadbhavana Baithaks (goodwill meetings) were conducted in 5,036 taluks, while Hindu Sammelans were organized in 34,187 mandals.
Bhagwat used the platform to call for a new model of development that balances economic progress with social and human welfare, specifically noting the dangers of drug addiction as a serious national problem.
He also addressed the need for environmental caution in the Himalayan region, where he noted that infrastructure growth must be balanced with public safety to prevent human loss.
Regarding digital safety, he reiterated the need to regulate OTT platforms and social media to protect the youth from age-inappropriate content.
Bhagwat reaffirmed that the RSS’s efforts to build a strong Hindu society are intended to strengthen national unity rather than exclude other faiths.
He asserted that India’s unity is based on an emotional bond and not a transactional relationship.
