The youth who slandered AIADMK Interim General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami at the airport and broadcast live on Facebook has been released.

AIADMK Interim General Secretary and Leader of Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami arrived in Madurai on Saturday by flight from Chennai to participate in Madurai Meenakshi Amman Koil darshan and public meeting in Sivagangai district. He was welcomed at the airport by former ministers Sellur K. Raju, RB Udayakumar, members of the legislative assembly VV Rajanchellappa, Periyapullan, former member of the legislative assembly doctor P. Saravanan.

Earlier, when he got off the plane and came to the airport complex by bus, a fellow passenger came to Edappadi K. Palanishamy, raising slogans and posting on his Facebook page. Subsequently, the security officer who came with Edappadi K. Palanichami and the airport security officers caught the young man and brought him to the airport, when the AIADMK members tried to attack him. Security officials rescued the youth and brought him out.

Due to this there was a commotion in the Madurai airport complex. Airport security officials handed over the youth to the Avaniyapuram police. On investigation, the youth was Yogeswaran’s son Rajeswaran (42) from Vaiyapuripatti village next to Singampunari in Sivagangai district. It was revealed that he had come from Singapore to Madurai via Chennai. When no AIADMK member filed a complaint about the incident, the police kept the youth in a vehicle at the airport premises.

At that time, AMU members who came to Madurai airport in support of Rajeswaran got into an argument with the police to release him. The police released Rajeswaran in the evening after writing that he would cooperate with the investigation if a complaint was filed on behalf of the AIADMK. It is to be noted that Rajeswaran is the District Secretary of Amamukha’s Expatriate Welfare Division
