Athar: The decision to specify two sectors for the newly constructed bridge has created confusion in the Athar municipality.
Salem District, Atwar Municipal Councilor meeting was held on Feb. 28 last. In which, as the 53rd resolution, ‘drinking water pipe will be constructed at 97 thousand rupees through the flyover constructed by the public works department across Kottay Vashishta river’; As the 56th resolution, it was also reported that ‘street lights will be installed on both sides of the flyover to be built by the highway department across Kottay Vashishta river at a cost of 18 lakh rupees’.
It was mentioned that the bridge was being built by two departments, highway and public works, for the same bridge, which caused controversy. In this regard, Athar Municipal Commissioner Vasanthi said, “The flyover is being built by the Public Works Department.
In response to the fact that the highway passing through the bridge is being lighted, it has been mistakenly printed as the bridge being constructed by the Highways Department. This kind of mistake will not happen again,” he said.
