Fausto Pinna Passes Away: Farewell to Iva Zanicchi’s Husband
Fausto Pinna, the longtime partner of renowned Italian singer Iva Zanicchi, passed away at the age of 74 after a lengthy battle with a serious illness. The announcement was made on Thursday, August 8, through an Instagram post by Verissimo, a close friend of the couple.
Pinna and Zanicchi had been together since 1987, though they were never officially married. They considered themselves husband and wife in every sense. He was a music producer of Sardinian origins, ten years younger than the singer. Pinna also leaves behind a daughter from a previous relationship.
The couple shared numerous moments of life and entertainment together, including the release of Zanicchi’s album “Care colleghe” and a fun skit they performed during her appearance on the show “Ballando con le stelle.”
Cause of Death
Pinna’s death was attributed to the serious illness that had plagued him. Initial diagnosis was lung cancer in 2020, which returned in 2022 despite initial remission. Zanicchi bravely recounted her husband’s fight against the disease, revealing that he had been given just two months to live at one point. Despite the odds, she expressed unwavering faith and determination to fight alongside him.
