They are the “little hands” of the hospital, men and women whom the patients do not meet. And yet, it is also thanks to them that the hospital runs every day. Cooks, employees responsible for preparing meal trays or changing patients’ sheets, electricians, plumbers, logisticians… They are not caregivers, but they too came to work during the health crisis, even when the risks were unknown, in the very beginning of a pandemic. We followed them for a day.

What is their daily role in the hospital? How do they see their job, they who sometimes feel “forgotten”? And how are they perceived by their colleagues in white coats?

► Portraits made by Charlie Dupiot, at the heart of Lariboisière Hospital AP-HP in Paris (Xᵉ arrondissement).
