The identity of the chief cyber commander of the Revolutionary Guards has been revealed, it was reported this evening (Sunday) on the Iranian opposition website “Iran International”. According to the report, his name is Hamid Reza Lashgarian, 61 years old, born in Tehran. Lashgrian was in charge of the 13th Intelligence Team, which was active in attacking Western ships and cyber-attacks on infrastructure facilities such as gasoline pumps around the world.

According to Microsoft, these four groups used an approach previously used by the hacking group ‘Europim’ affiliated with the Ministry of Information that carried out several attacks over a period of more than a year. According to Microsoft, Iran carried out the latest attacks in retaliation for significant cyber attacks against it, including hacking into the system of the Municipality of Tehran.
At the same time, the Lovedogtgen group revealed that the person responsible for the cyber attack is Iran’s Iliant Gostar company under the command of Mohammad Bakr Shirinkar. His brother, Mohammad Hussain Shirinkar, is also one of the main players in this team. Mehdi Hashemi Taghraljerdi, the son-in-law of these two, who is on the US sanctions list, is the CEO and board member of the Iranian company Iliant Gostar.
All IRGC cyber groups operate under Lashgarian’s supervision, with means provided by the IRGC. The White House spokesman announced last week that NATO countries are discussing the use of Article 5, which states that an attack on a member state of the alliance will be considered an attack on all member states.
