A Leon S. Kennedy amiibo is officially on the way this summer, joining the previously announced Grace Ashcroft figure. The news arrived during today’s Nintendo Partner Direct, confirming what fans had long suspected.
The Nintendo Partner Direct showcased footage of Resident Evil: Requiem, reiterating the February 27 release date. Also highlighted were Gold Editions of Resident Evil 7 and 8, and a special Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller designed for the game. The Grace Ashcroft amiibo had been previously revealed.
Capcom had attempted to keep Leon Kennedy’s inclusion in Requiem under wraps, but the secret was out even before the official announcement at The Game Awards. Since then, the character has seen a surge in popularity, with some fans playfully dubbing him a “Hot Uncle” and drawing comparisons to actor Keanu Reeves. Developers have stated that Leon and Grace will receive approximately the same amount of screen time, making matching amiibo a logical step.
