Residents Affected by DKI KTP Deactivation Free Vehicle Name Transfer Fee

HEAD of the DKI Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Service (Disdukcapil) Budi Awaluddin asked Jakarta residents who live outside the area to immediately move their population documents, especially KTPs.

This is in line with plans to deactivate the population identification number (NIK) of Jakarta residents who have lived in other areas for years. The reason is that this has an impact on public services that use NIK.

To ease their burden, Budi explained that the DKI Provincial Government had agreed with the West Java and Banten Regional Opinion Agency (Bapenda) to waive motor vehicle title transfer fees (BBNKB) for residents affected by NIK deactivation.

“We have collaborated with the West Java, Banten and DKI Bapenda for the transfer of name tax due to changes in asset domicile. The BBNKB will be zeroed,” Budi told reporters, Friday (26/4).

Not only that, the DKI Provincial Government also provides assistance to residents who are undergoing treatment using BPJS Health.

“For those affected by health services (BPJS), people who are still undergoing treatment such as dialysis, chemotherapy and other routine treatments will be excluded from the program for arranging and controlling population documents,” he said.

The DKI Provincial Government has started deactivating NIK targeting 92 thousand Jakarta residents, with details of 81,119 NIK residents who died and 11,374 NIK residents in Rukun Tetangga (RT) who no longer exist. In the first stage, 40 thousand NIKs of residents who died and 9600 thousand NIKs of residents whose RT no longer existed were deactivated. (Z-8)
