Resonance of Fate Gets Enhanced Remaster With 120 FPS

Cult-classic JRPG Resonance of Fate returns with an unexpected Enhanced Remaster for PlayStation 5 and PC, bringing native 4K output, 120 FPS support, textured upgrades, and a new double-speed mode sixteen years after its original 2010 debut.

PlayStation 5 and PC players gain native 4K resolution output, HDR support, and framerates reaching up to 120 FPS on compatible hardware in the Enhanced Remaster. The cult-classic tri-Ace project first reached players on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010. Rather than starting fresh, developers built this new iteration on top of the 2018 4K/HD Edition. The release spans PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, though players on Microsoft consoles are left out once again following the skip of the original remaster on Xbox systems.

The package expands technical options considerably beyond past releases.

Players can also toggle a decimation filter within the settings menu to sharpen fine details such as hair strands. Alongside these graphical improvements, tri-Ace integrated a 2x Game Speed option that accelerates exploration, battles, and cutscene events. On PC, minimum specifications require an Intel Core i5-3330 or AMD FX-8350 processor paired with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti or AMD Radeon HD 7770 graphics card, while the recommended configuration calls for an Intel Core i5-8600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 alongside an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT.

Pricing Tiers and Upgrade Paths for Returning Players

Acquiring the new version depends on existing ownership across platforms. On Steam, the Enhanced Remaster functions as downloadable content requiring the base 2018 4K/HD Edition, with the Steam upgrade DLC costing $9.99.

Mercenaries Battle Across the Machine City of Basel

Set in a distant future where humanity clings to survival inside a colossal machine named Basel on a devastated Earth, the title casts players as mercenaries Vashyron, Zephyr, and Leanne. The combat loop diverges sharply from conventional fantasy RPGs by discarding swords and magic in favor of firearms, positioning, and theatrical acrobatics.

This is a hugely interesting game, as fascinating as it is frequently frustrating, as engaging as it is eccentric and, for those who are hooked by its quirky charms, it will provide one of the most inspired approaches to the JRPG seen in a decade.

Completionists typically invest upward of 100 hours into the adventure, while mainline playthroughs take at least 50 hours and around 70 hours with side content.

The existing PC remaster also maintains a “Very Positive” Steam rating, with approximately 80% of nearly 1,000 user reviews recommending it.
