Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.5 launches on October 22, 2026, bringing cross-platform mod support to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Released alongside the streaming debut of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2, the patch also introduces handgun dual-wielding, new prequel quests, and technical upgrades.
Cross-Platform Modding Arrives via Mod.io
Console players can now browse and install player-created add-ons directly from the in-game menu through a partnership with mod.io. The feature lands on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Developers caution that while the integration serves as an accessible first step, users should expect some limitations,
and warn against installing too many packages simultaneously to prevent game instability. Furthermore, console users utilizing a modded save file will find that achievements and trophies cannot be earned while playing from that file.

CD Projekt Red and co-development partner Virtuos worked on the release. In the latest REDStreams episode focused on the update, Associate Game Director Pawel Sasko revealed new features coming to the game.
Edgerunners Tie-Ins Add New Quests and Gear
Timed to coincide with the Netflix premiere of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2, the update incorporates narrative elements directly linked to the show. Players completing this mission can acquire a five-piece gear set based on the character King.
An entirely separate addition called Welcome to Paradise offers a guided exploration of Night City’s history narrated by founder Richard Night, unlocking after completing The Heist and reaching level 15 Street Cred.
The patch also introduces 12 new Minor Arcana Tarot Cards to discover across Night City, and the Tarot menu now has separate sections for Major and Minor Arcana. Four new TWINTONE skins for the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech are now available via Twitch Drops.
Power Handguns Now Support Dual-Wielding
Combat options expand with the introduction of a dual-wielding playstyle. The mechanic is restricted to power handguns.
Aesthetic enhancements also arrive via five new Glamdoc shops scattered across the map.
Technical Optimizations and Platform Schedules
On the hardware and software front, the patch introduces support for Nvidia DLSS 4.5, including up to 6X Multi Frame Generation.
The technology update also adds support for glasses-free 3D effects on compatible Samsung Odyssey displays.
While the primary update rolls out on October 22, 2026, for PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac App Store users will receive the files a few days later.
