Negotiations on the truce in Gaza will resume in Cairo today, Wednesday, in the presence of all parties, according to Egyptian media reports.

Egypt hosts delegations representing both sides of the war, Hamas and Israel, in addition to Qatar and the United States, which are participating with Egypt in mediation efforts to stop the war, which broke out on October 7 last year.

This comes at a time when Israeli sources revealed an upcoming meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and CIA Director William Burns on Wednesday.

The latest round of talks between the mediators and the Palestinian movement concluded in Cairo on Sunday, while Israel and Hamas publicly exchanged blame for the failure to reach an agreement.

Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that 44 bodies had been recovered so far from the Shifa Medical Complex in the northern Strip, after the discovery of a new mass grave.

The Ministry indicated, in a brief statement on Facebook, that the discovered bodies were decomposed, and that search operations were still continuing, according to what was reported by the Arab World News Agency.

At the beginning of this week, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that there were 120 bodies that had not been recovered in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital, west of Gaza City. This is due to the Israeli occupation’s refusal to work medical teams in those areas, and the lack of heavy drilling equipment. Due to the exhaustion of fuel, as the occupation continues to tighten the siege on the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health indicated that search and recovery operations for the dead have been underway for several weeks, as dozens were recovered from inside Al-Shifa Hospital, and from under the rubble of the destroyed homes surrounding the hospital.
