BENGALURU- A revised passport has been issued to a sex-surgeon.
A 25-year-old private company employee lives in Bagalur, Bangalore. He was a man and underwent gender surgery in 2021 to become a woman.
In this case, he applied at the passport office in Koramangala at the end of last month, requesting to change the ‘male’ in his passport to ‘female’.
Along with this application, he also attached documents including the medical report of the sex surgery. The authorities also accepted the application. Bagalur police reported that there is no case against him.
Subsequently, the officials corrected the word ‘male’ in the passport and changed it to ‘female’. The revised passport was distributed to him the day before yesterday. It is noteworthy that this is the first revised passport issued in the state.
