Endicott Roller Hockey Faces Tough Competition in Latest Tournament

A challenging weekend at the Longplex | Family & Sports Center saw the Endicott roller hockey team post a 1-3-0 record (1-1-0 in division play) in its fourth regular season tournament. The Gulls encountered a mix of results, demonstrating both offensive firepower and defensive vulnerabilities.

Weekend Recap: A Tale of Two Days

The tournament began with a pair of setbacks for Endicott on Saturday, falling to Northeastern 3-2 and the University of Rhode Island (URI) 4-1. Despite the losses, the team showed resilience, battling against strong opposition. Sunday brought a split decision, with a decisive 8-5 victory over Yeshiva followed by a 4-0 defeat against Grand Canyon.

Offensive Standouts Shine

Several players distinguished themselves offensively throughout the weekend. Jack Ryan, of Scituate, Massachusetts, led the charge with two goals and one assist. Justin Stergos also contributed two goals and an assist, while Aidan Leahy added a goal and two assists. Supporting the scoring effort were Liam Joy with two goals, and Zach Peterson, Thomas Quirk, and Bennett Fici each netting a single goal. Playmaking was also a strength, with Michael Dockray and Quinn Brown each recording three assists. Colin Sampson also added a goal to the tally.

Goaltending Performance

Endicott’s goaltenders faced a heavy workload throughout the tournament. Sampson recorded 18 saves, while Mitchell Grant stood out with an impressive 47 saves. Liam Fogarty secured one win with 10 saves.

Looking Ahead: Next Steps for the Gulls
