‘Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ Cast Navigates Fractured Friendships After Season Six Finale
Following a dramatic season six finale, the cast of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is grappling with shifting alliances and unresolved conflicts. Several cast members have publicly addressed the state of their relationships, revealing a complex web of loyalty, hurt feelings, and lingering tensions.
The season’s conclusion, which aired Tuesday night, prompted Heather Gay, Meredith Marks, Angie Katsanevas, and Britani Bateman to reflect on their bonds, while Bronwyn Newport confirmed a complete severing of ties with Lisa Barlow and detailed the reasons behind her decision.
“Listen, we are in it together,” Gay told Bravo HQ, via The Daily Dish. “There’s real love there. There is real history. There is real loyalty.” Marks echoed this sentiment, stating that even amidst conflict, she would readily support her co-stars. “Even when we’re fighting at our worst, like, if any one of these women were to call me, I would run to their doorstep,” Marks said. Gay further emphasized the support system the show has inadvertently created, noting she has “lost a lot coming on this show, like family, community, security,” but now knows she can “call on these women” who “understand my pain more than anyone else.”
Marks acknowledged navigating a challenging season marked by accusations of erratic behavior, including an alleged incident with Bateman on a plane. Despite these difficulties, she confirmed her relationship with Barlow remains stable and expressed a positive outlook regarding her connection with Katsanevas. “Angie and I, I think, are in a good place, surprisingly,” Marks stated, while admitting uncertainty about her standing with other cast members.
Katsanevas described her relationships with the group as “split down the middle,” expressing a desire for greater accountability moving forward. “I’ll just see where everyone lands,” she said, adding, “We’re a group of friends, so I hope there’s a couple people that can learn to move differently and watch themselves. Maybe this is, like, their year of growth and evolution and finding a new way to be a friend [who] doesn’t have to hurt people so deeply.”
Bateman revealed she remains estranged from both Marks and Barlow, but maintains a strong connection with Katsanevas, particularly outside of the show’s established “clique.” She also expressed continued closeness with Heather Gay and Whitney Rose, 39. Bateman also shared she speaks with Newport “about once a week” and anticipates a blossoming friendship with Mary Cosby. “She doesn’t know this yet, but Mary, we’re gonna be best friends someday,” Bateman declared.
Newport, in a separate interview with Bravo HQ, confirmed she has ceased all communication with Barlow. “It would be hard for me to speak to Lisa,” she stated. “I believe she has me blocked on everything. I don’t know, but that’s the impression I get, because people have to screenshot me negative comments she says about me. I don’t actually see them in person.”
The final blow to their relationship, Newport explained, was Barlow’s silence following the unexpected death of her father in June 2025. “My dad passed after filming, and I heard from everybody on the cast, no matter where I stood with them at the end of filming, with the exception of Lisa,” Newport shared. “And I think that kind of sums up why I’m just really not interested in anything from her at this point. If you don’t have sympathy for somebody who’s unexpectedly lost a parent, I’m really meaningless to you. And I don’t have people in my life who treat me that way, no.”
Newport also recounted feeling deeply hurt by Barlow’s dismissive comments during the season five reunion. “I thought we were much closer than she was making out to be on camera and in front of the women,” Newport stated. “So, to have her say to me in New York, you know, ‘I never knew you. I never cared about you. You were never important to me,’ that was new information that I was processing in front of everyone watching at home. And it was really hurtful.”
Despite the pain, Newport initially attempted to reconcile with Barlow after the season. “I was like Goldilocks trying out different things with Lisa,” she revealed. “First, I fought back…and so you see me apologize to her. You see me just kind of say, ‘We’re just gonna be civil.’ And I realized, oh, we’re not even just gonna be civil. She’s gonna continue to talk about my daughter and this really sensitive thing that I specifically told her is hurtful to my child. It’s hurtful to my family.” Despite this, Newport expressed continued well wishes for Barlow, stating, “But I am hoping the best for Baby Gorgeous, always,” while acknowledging a reluctance to personally reconnect.
