It is an honor for me to be in this country, to have faced it and suffered so many times, for me it is a great responsibility and honor to be in charge of the National Team”, were the first words of the brand new La Roja coach.
Asked about the reasons that led him to accept the challenge of assuming, Ricardo Gareca pointed to the team that the National Team has for its next challenges.
“What moves me is the importance of the country, the importance of its players. I am convinced that he has really very important players. “You can yearn and aspire for that possibility of being in a World Cup again, you are in a position to hit that lift,” he said at a press conference.
Along these lines, Tigre Gareca made it clear that the great objective at the head of La Roja is to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
