Right-wing violence is rampant; Germany back to the Hitler era

by time news

Berlin | In Germany, the brutality of the extreme right wing is increasing. The report of the Department of Home Affairs said that in 2022 there were five percent more crimes than the previous year. Last year, 23,083 crimes were registered against extremists. In 2021, there were 21,964 crimes.

However, experts say that the official figures are not accurate and the truth is many times more than what has come out. Many of the victims will not go that route because they are sure that it will not be a big deal even if they report it to the police.

Anti-Muslim crimes
The new estimate is that 569 Islamophobic crimes were committed in the country in 2022. It is reported that 45 mosques were attacked and 25 people were injured.

Cruelty to the Christian community
Statistics show that not only Muslims, but also Christians are not safe in Germany. According to official figures, 2,639 anti-Christian crimes were committed in 2022. Of these, 88 were assaults. 31 people were injured.

Flagging anti-immigration
Germany, which had a comparatively better refugee policy among European countries, is also moving towards stricter anti-immigration. Last year, 121 refugee centers were attacked. Since 2015, the number of such attacks has been increasing every year.

1,248 refugees were physically or indirectly attacked outside refugee centers in 2022. Apart from countries like Syria and Turkey, hundreds of thousands of people have sought refuge in Germany from Ukraine, where there is a strong war going on.
