Riobamba is preparing to receive the best cyclists in the country in the National Road Championship that will take place from February 1 to 3, 2024.

This edition of the National Championship will be special, since the most important cyclists in the country have confirmed their presence in Riobamba. Richard Carapaz, Jhonatan Narváez, Martín López, Alexander Cepeda, Jhonatan Caicedo, Jefferson Cepeda, Miryam Núñez, Ana Vivar and Esther Galarza will participate in this important event that will be broadcast nationally on the Teleamazonas signal.

In addition, the two main teams in our country (Movistar Best PC and Team Banco Guayaquil) will participate with the best of their roster.

Asked about his participation in this Championship, Richard Carapaz left the following reflection in an interview with Radio La Red: “The National Championship will be a flatter course, there will not be as much mountain. The elite time trial events will have a route of 1 lap (women) and 2 laps (men) around a 20.32 kilometer urban circuit, while the elite road tests will have a route of 7 laps (women) and 11 laps (men). ) for a circuit of 16.42 kilometers.

Richard Carapaz and Ana Vivar are the current road champions, although their titles are at high risk of passing into other hands, since cyclists like Jhonatan Narváez and Miryam Núñez come with an extraordinary present that places them as serious candidates to win.
