Shaheen congratulated Rizwan on social media X (formerly Twitter) on Monday (April 22) night. There, the 24-year-old pacer compared the Swadeshi with Australian legend Sir Don Bradman, who is known as the best batsman of all time. He also called him as the ‘Superman’ of Pakistan.
Afridi wrote, ‘Congratulations to Bradman of T20 cricket and Pakistan’s superman Mohammad Rizwan for 3000 runs. Your power has changed the game of cricket, silenced all the doubters. Keep flying, you are an inspiration to many.’
Shaheen did not just sit with the statement. He organized a party to honor Rizwan. Rizwan also thanked his teammate for this, ‘Thanks a lot to Shaheen Afridi for organizing a great celebration for me and bringing the Pakistan team together. Thanks to all teammates and fans for their unwavering support.’
Rizwan reached this milestone in the ongoing T20 series against New Zealand. He reached the fastest 3000 runs club on his way to playing an unbeaten innings of 45 runs in the second T20I. It took him 79 innings to reach the milestone. Before reaching this milestone in 81 innings, Babar Azam and Virat Kohli were jointly on top.
