(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 07 – “The National Health Service today represents one of the most important assets of the country. The health of citizens and their quality of life depend on its good functioning. Every day thousands of women and men wake up with the objective of guaranteeing the right to health to all of us”. This was stated by the president of the Lazio Region Francesco Rocca, who met the trade unions in the afternoon at the council headquarters. With him the director of the Health and Social and Health Integration Directorate Andrea Urbani.
“We know this well – Rocca continued – and this is why we have decided to approve one of the largest investments in public health in recent years. Over 6,800 new hires which, with the 2,500 approved in the last weeks of last year, become approximately 9,300, plus the 1,300 for the Jubilee 2025. To these we must add 1,500 stabilisations, which are added to the 1,600 already carried out in 2023. A planning effort which, overall, involved almost 14 thousand operators for an investment of 661.5 million EUR”.
For Rocca it is “a bet on the future – Rocca further explained to the unions – We are talking about a challenge of civilization with respect to the adverse conditions in which thousands of healthcare, technical and administrative workers operate today, with the sole objective of taking care of we citizens at a time when we are at our weakest, most fragile and most frightened. It is a strong and clear choice, supported by huge public resources. A choice that will lead to a 17% increase in the current workforce.
But above all a choice that intends to contribute to increasing the services that the citizens of Lazio deserve, together with the serenity of our operators”. (ANSA).
