Roscosmos head Dmitry Rogozin said that the situation in the city of Baikonur in Kazakhstan and at the Russian cosmodrome remains under control. So he commented on the events in the neighboring country, where mass protests and riots have not stopped since January 2 due to the economic and political crisis.

“It was a night without incident at Baikonur,” Rogozin said on his Telegram channel. “The situation is … under control.”

The day before, he reported that security had been increased at key facilities of the cosmodrome. At the same time, it was indicated that the branches of the enterprises of the Russian state corporation, as well as law enforcement agencies and city services of Baikonur, are working as usual.
