Rokid Style: New AI Glasses Prioritize Prescription Needs and Lightweight Design
Table of Contents
Rokid has unveiled its latest innovation in wearable technology – the Rokid Style smart glasses – positioning them as “ultra-light, prescription-first, and designed for everyday life.” The glasses, showcased at CES, represent a departure from traditional smart glasses by forgoing a built-in display in favor of a voice-centric AI experience.
A New Approach to Smart Eyewear
The Rokid Style distinguishes itself in a rapidly evolving market by focusing on accessibility and comfort. Unlike many competitors, these AI glasses are designed to be remarkably lightweight, weighing just 38.5 grams. This makes them, according to Rokid, “the lightest full-featured AI glasses on the market.” The company emphasizes an open AI ecosystem, allowing users to leverage multiple AI engines rather than being confined to a single platform.
AI Integration and Global Accessibility
The Rokid Style boasts compatibility with leading AI platforms including ChatGPT, DeepSeek, and Qwen. Beyond these, the glasses integrate seamlessly with globally recognized services like Google Maps and Microsoft AI Translation, facilitating AI-powered functionality across diverse regions and languages. This commitment to global accessibility is a core tenet of the Rokid Style’s design.
Prescription Options and Lens Technology
Rokid is addressing a significant barrier to entry for many potential smart glass users by offering a comprehensive online prescription service. The glasses support a wide correction range, from plano to ±15.00D, accommodating Myopia, Astigmatism, Presbyopia, Progressive lenses, and various Functional lenses – including photochromic, tinted, blue-light, UV, polarized, and anti-reflective options.
The lenses themselves are ultra-thin and feature anti-scratch coatings. Furthermore, dynamic photochromic lenses are available in six color options, capable of transitioning from indoor clarity to outdoor sunglasses in as little as 25 seconds. Users can expect to receive their custom prescription lenses within 7-10 days of ordering.
Design, Battery Life, and Camera Capabilities
The Rokid Style features a classic D-shaped frame constructed with aviation-grade titanium alloy hinges and comfortable air-cushioned liquid-silicone nose pads. A dual-chip architecture contributes to impressive battery life, providing up to 12 hours of typical daily use and over 24 hours of standby time on a single charge.
Available in Jet Black and Translucent Gray, the glasses also incorporate a 12-megapixel Sony sensor for image and video capture. They support open-ear audio and a creator-ready triple-format imaging system (3:4/4:3/9:16), capable of recording in 4K for up to 10 minutes.
Pricing and Availability
The Rokid Style is available for reservation now, with an early-bird offer of a $1 deposit for a $20 discount. The global online launch is scheduled for January 19. The retail price starts at $299, with a ‘Premium Bundle’ available for $398. This bundle includes the Rokid Ai Glasses Style, a 1.60 prescription lens, and photochromic lenses. The glasses will be available through Rokid’s website and select online and offline retail channels.
“AI glasses are becoming the most natural interface for the next era of computing. Clarity is a fundamental human right,” stated a company release from Zoro Shao, Global General Manager at Rokid, underscoring the company’s vision for the future of wearable technology.
