Roma scouted Club Brugge winger Carlos Forbs at San Siro, monitoring the Portuguese attacker as a January alternative to Endrick after he delivered a three-assist performance against Inter Milan.
Roma Target Carlos Forbs for January Transfer Window
Roma are working to reinforce their attacking options ahead of the upcoming winter transfer window in January. While Real Madrid forward Endrick remains a primary target for the Italian club, the club is keeping other options open.
They want to avoid depending entirely on a difficult negotiation with the Spanish giants.
In that search for reinforcements, Club Brugge winger Carlos Forbs has moved onto the radar for Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad. Born in 2004, the Portuguese attacker of Guinean descent developed through the youth ranks at Sporting Lisbon and Manchester City before Ajax acquired him in 2023. He then returned to the Premier League on loan at Wolverhampton before Ajax sold him to Bruges in the summer of 2025.
Scouts Watch Forbs Excel at San Siro Against Inter Milan
Roma representatives watched the Portugal international live during his standout Champions League display at San Siro. Operating high on the right flank, Forbs caused serious problems for Inter Milan’s defense, including Federico Dimarco.
He provided three assists as the Belgian side scored four goals away from home.
That performance intensified interest from several sides. Tottenham and Manchester United are also tracking the winger, alongside links to Fiorentina and interest from Spanish and German clubs over the summer. Securing his signature will require clearing a financial hurdle. Club Brugge values the player above €15-20 million, with a valuation stretching higher in alternative reports, and will not consider loan agreements with or without purchase options. Roma News says the thirty million euro valuation is not expected to differ greatly from Brugge’s current asking price, while Forza Roma calls the fee a significant hurdle.
Tony D’Amico Faces Contract Hurdles and Endrick Competition
Sporting director Tony D’Amico faces a complex task with Forbs under a long-term contract at Bruges that runs until June 30, 2029. Roma News gives his birth year as 2002 and does not mention his contract, while other reports note the 2004 birth year.
At the same time, Roma’s primary objective remains beating AC Milan and Aston Villa to land Endrick. Real Madrid is open to a loan arrangement.
Manager José Mourinho does not currently want to let the Brazilian talent go.
Will Roma persuade Real Madrid to part with Endrick, or will they meet Club Brugge’s valuation for Carlos Forbs in January?
