Roman Rotenberg, the son of Boris Rotenberg, a Russian entrepreneur, co-owner and member of the board of directors of SMP Bank (Northern Sea Route), has been appointed head coach of the SKA St. Petersburg ice hockey club. In this post, he replaced Valery Bragin, who will now become an assistant to the team’s head coach.
“In accordance with the decision of the Board of Directors of the club in order to improve the management of the headquarters and the team, Roman Rotenberg has been appointed to the position of head coach,” the statement published on the club’s website says.
According to the Western Conference standings, SKA ranks second with 62 points in 44 matches. The next meeting will be held by the army team on January 4 against the Beijing club “Kunlun Red Star”.
